A Restaurant with a Family Heart
Morgan’s Mango is more than just a restaurant, it's part of the landscape and soul of Saint John. Located in Cruz Bay, this Caribbean classic began with a clear mission: to offer authentic Caribbean cuisine in a relaxed, seaside atmosphere. Today, it’s a must visit for anyone exploring the island, but it all started with a simple idea and a lot of passion.
A Caribbean Dream
Founded in 1992 by Carlos and María Inés, Morgan’s Mango opened its doors with the goal of celebrating the culinary diversity of the Caribbean. The concept brought together fresh ingredients, local products, and a menu that paid tribute to the flavors of Latin America. From the very beginning, the restaurant became a place where both locals and travelers found more than just food they found an experience.
Weathering the Storm: Rebuilding After Irma
In September 2017, Hurricane Irma struck the Virgin Islands hard. Morgan’s Mango was among the many businesses hit, suffering significant structural damage. But that wasn’t the end of the story. With dedication, hard work, and the support of the community, the restaurant reopened after a full rebuild, solidifying its place as a symbol of island resilience.
The Kitchen at the Center
Since day one, the kitchen has been the heart of Morgan’s Mango. Today, it is led by Chef Alexis Guerrero formerly the longtime Sous Chef who played a key role in bringing the kitchen back after Irma. Alongside him are Sous Chef Rafael Gil and Chef de Cuisine Maritza, forming a talented and passionate team.
Over 30 Years of Flavor
With more than three decades of history, Morgan’s Mango remains true to its essence: great food, in a special setting, with warm service that makes every guest feel at home.
Behind the signature flavors, there’s a team that puts heart into everything they do.
